As a licensed childcare provider and a sought-after consultant to families seeking the best for their children, Marilyn Randolph has shaped the course of countless lives. The owner of Howard’s Family Day Care, operating since 1984 and established under the directorship of her late grandmother, Ms. Betty A. Howard, Marilyn has impeccable professional credentials.
Having earned an AA degree in Social Behavior, with emphasis in Business and Early Childhood Education along with permits through the state of California, she is well prepared to meet the challenges presented by developing children. Additionally, Marilyn has acquired several certificates through Teach stone, First 5, and Cares Plus, enhancing her already strong qualifications. Seeking to extend her community outreach, she started the nonprofit organization, the Betty Howard Memorial Scholarship Fund.
This scholarship was created to help students in Early Childhood Education, offering funding at the junior college level. A merit award of 250.00 is annually bestowed to the winner of the scholarship. Along with these efforts, she oversees the distribution of gifts to over 100 children in the community every Christmas and has been delivering such joy over the past 15 plus years.
Licensed as an Evangelist in June 2012 and a faithful member of the Greater Love Church for over 25 years serving as Board of Trustee member, Youth Department Chairlady, and junior church mother assistant of the Greater Love Church, Marilyn finds her inner direction in the grounding of her faith. To these clerically involved roles, she also has contributed much as Purity President, locally and for the Greater Love and Shiloh District for the past two years.
Family is at the core of her beliefs and values, what she holds most sacred. Married with six children, three who are adopted, two of which were legally adopted from the foster care system. When her grandmother passed away, she assumed legal guardianship of her niece and all share a loving home.
Marilyn is a noted author, having written “Be Still” a volume that is now published. Currently, she is completing her second book exploring the subject of the opening of family daycare in the home for those that want to start a business in child care, this is also an area of specialization as a consultant.’ Future plans include continuing to travel to minister, building her successful consulting business and supporting scholarships on an ongoing basis to continuing students in Early Childhood Education at the junior college level throughout the the state of California.
